So, pretty much as soon as I dried my tears & cleaned up after my pity party, I had to ramp it back up again. Sick mama here the last few days.

It is so much easier being sick when your little ones are not so little! Daddy was a totally sweetheart & brought home dinner & roses! And to give you a clue to how bad I felt.. He told me he brought me a gift & I didn’t even get up to investigate. He brought the flowers to me on the couch. I have a good man!

Yesterday the kids enjoyed a nearly full day of video games & relaxing…

And that alone should have had them nominating me as MOTY (Mom of the Year). But, I cannot live with just my illness & laziness pushing me to the top.

So, today I brought them to the trampoline park. You can pass over that MOTY crown now 😉

I used to worry about having babies around. B & V can both be very jealous. But, the little dude is showing me that B is ok with sharing the role of baby. She does want more hugs & kisses from him than he wants to share, but they make it work.

Kind of funny because I gave up the baby title at 9. And there were ups and downs, but I remember demanding lots of affection from our little dude, too. I don’t think I scarred him 😉

How many days over the summer you think I will manage to post…?

I tend to go in spurts. And sometimes living takes all of me–no energy to type about it!

Anyhow, right now I am typing at Taco Bell. We are taking advantage of a freebie. When the D-backs score 6 or more, you can get 3 free tacos if you buy a large soda the next day. And B & I don’t need 3 so the boys are enjoying 4 tacos each & I can type.

Before this little jaunt we spent the day; getting my allergy shot, doing laundry (3ish loads), playing with the little dude, going to the Science Center, playing sidewalk chalk with the neighbors, swimming with the neighbors (in the morning @ their house, this afternoon at ours), and playing a few video games.

Next up = dog food run & *maybe* one more errand before we head home & I make dinner #2.

And, in case I forget, the plan for tomorrow includes movies, helping/visiting Grandma’s garage sale, playing with a toddler & getting *free* ice cream.

I will also note–free is huge for me over the summer! The movies are less than $1 a kid & thanks to Nana & Papa we have a Science Center membership. I try to keep our summers full and fun without spending a fortune.

Since I shared a few photos, thought I would try my luck and post a video, too.

This is the show that Bean was in earlier in the year. You have to have skills and play a little “Where’s Beanie”, but she’s in there. And if you don’t want to cry, don’t listen to the words.

I think it’d be better if I could figure out how to have the video show on here, but for today, I am going to just share the link and call it good.

It’s so hard to be a mom to a sick kid.

I don’t know what my mom will think when she reads this… But, it’s my blog and my life, so I will share. I don’t know that I was nursed back to health all that much by my mom. I know she would make jello and have sprite on hand. But, I really just remember sleeping on the couch and watching t.v. solo. I also remember being given a bell to ring if I needed anything.

And I *know* that I am lacking in this area. I warned B before we married that I don’t do well around sick people. I try to get everything he needs and let him rest when he’s sick. But, I am just not very patient with illness.

I try to be better for the kids. I try to snuggle them and love on them and care for them when they’re sick. But, I am guilty of giving them the

puke bowl

and just sending them to the sofa. I am guilty of expecting quick recoveries. And I probably don’t have as much sympathy/empathy as I should.

So, to my kiddos, I am sorry in advance. I am trying…

V has a temperature of 103.5, Bean is just over 100. My poor sick babies 🙁

Today is the last day of school.

Right now the baby is sleeping and I am enjoying one of the last quiet moments I will have for a couple of months.

All in all, I’d say we had more wins than losses as far as school this year. I think we’ll all enjoy the break from homework and the busy days.

And, to compare… Here they are on the first day.

We made it! It only took 5 bathroom breaks for the 5.5 hour drive.. :p

Then I took the kids on a hike adventure…

We walked from Circus Circus to M & M’s world. I have no clue how far it was, but we had quite a few detours and we were all beat once we made it. Took a taxi back & enjoyed a picnic dinner in the room before crashing.

Today we’re at the Adventuredome. The kids are loving all of the rides. My wallet is feeling the midway (and all of the stops during our adventure yesterday). Thankfully, my kids get it and were happy to have another picnic lunch.

On tap for tonight, “room service”… It will be pizza as that’s the only in-room option.

Sick mom + sorta sick kids + kids just not doing what they’re supposed to do = very annoyed mom

*And* as I came here today, I had to key in my password like 5 times. It’s been so long that I’ve forgotten how to blog!

Once again, I have a sinus infection–and this one is taking it’s tole (some are easier to fight than others!). Next week I will go back under the knife to, hopefully, get to a place where I am not having these as often. This will be the second surgery I’ve had on my sinuses, but this time around I am with a new ENT and I am looking forward to better/longer-lasting results.

In the meantime, I need to get through this sinus infection and keep my kids and family and life moving in the right direction.

One of the reasons I haven’t been blogging much is my new job 🙂 I have a little dude who I babysit three days a week. He is 5 months old and is definitely giving me my baby-fix. He’s also serving as a good reminder of how hard those baby days really were. We just hang out together for the most part. He does really well when we have errands to run, but he’s pretty picky when we’re here–he’d rather be held than play on the floor or sit in his swing.

Other than their slightly homicidal mom, our kids are doing well. This is the time of year when we seem to have a birthday every week or so… B is now 6, V is 7, d is 10 and D will be 11 in just a couple more weeks. My big boys are really big now–they can almost look me in the eye! And the little ones aren’t so little anymore… At the doctor the other day I was quite surprised, both of them are over 50 pounds now.

I hope that your day has started better than mine!

Oh, and don’t fear… the kids are in school now so they’re safe for at least a few hours.
