Some of you have likely heard this story before, but it still makes me giggle so I wanted to share.

A couple years ago we were all at a Diamondbacks game and the boys were getting a little silly.

One of the chants that the fans cheer is, “Let’s go D-Backs, let’s go..”

Well, David starts saying that chant, but inserts different words… “Here we go D-Hats, here we go”, then “Here we go D-Bats, here we go”…. but the one that made me laugh was, “Here we go D-Cups, here we go”.

Sometimes you're just so happy that an orange smile won't cut it...

We spend so much of our lives working to earn money. And a lot of that money goes to buy stuff. Then we spend the rest of our lives moving around, organizing, and cleaning up and around the same stuff.

I, in particular, love shopping. I love buying stuff. I love looking for the best prices. I love looking for new, trendy, unique, cute, fun things. I like spoiling my kids rotten. I like shopping for stuff that Brian would like. I love looking for gifts.

And I think that my house shows this. There isn’t room for another piece of furniture. There isn’t a sparse, bare feeling in any room in our home. Every room is full of personality and stuff!

The upcoming party has given me an excuse to partake in my favorite pass time… I got to shop for invites and announcements. I’ve looked for favors and decorations and paper wear. Oh, and then there’s shopping for the rest of the stuff–finding a photographer and a caterer and someone to rent us the rest of the equipment.

Needless to say, I’ve been having a blast.

But, there’s another side to this. I’ve also been trying to clean. I know that we’ll be hosting quite a few people here. So, I’ve been trying to dig my wy through the closets to make more space. And I’ve been sorting through the garage so that I have more room for all of the party stuff. And I’ve been trying to get the house to a place that I can be proud of it when you all come to see us.

I guess it’s all a part of the cycle. And I guess I’m helping the economy recover 😉 After all, the donations that I’ve dropped off will help some get job training, the shopping I’m doing helps others keep their jobs…

Vegas, Baby!

So, I’ve confessed that I let my baby girl go…

Wonder what the boys have been thinking about this?

Well, I *think* they all miss her (not as much as Daddy & I…). But, I can’t say that they’ve complained about how the house is too quiet or the fact that they don’t have anyone telling them what to do. And I haven’t yet heard them grumble about the extra time and attention that we have for them.

I did, however, hear some jealousy when I told the boys that she was going. They love Grandma & Grandpa & they would have all gladly gone in her place (darn that whole school/education thing!). *But*, V was the most jealous when I told him that Bean was going to come back on an airplane.

So, I suggested to him that after the adoption, maybe he and I could go on a trip together in an airplane. He was very excited about this as an option. So, the next question is where…

V’s answer, “Vegas.”

Don’t ask why. It’s just not a question you can ask of the V-dog. There’s no why, it’s just him.

As Grandpa would say, “It’s how he rolls.”

This parenting stuff is not for the faint of heart. I mean, seriously… It’s not easy.

I often joke about first time moms… They blog and post on facebook about each coo and flip and life is sunshine and roses. They have no clue what they’re in for!

And then there are the families at the zoo, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma and Auntie all there with one little one who can barely toddle–rookies!

I haven’t posted about this because, well, frankly, it makes me sad. My little Bean has been gone for over a week now. She’s visiting Grandpa & Grandma. And she’s having a great time. But, it’s not been easy on me. I miss her snuggles and cuddles and fits. It’s very quiet without her here. I feel like I have to explain her absence. And I feel like a little piece of me is out there on her own.

The good news is that, I can handle it. I dove head-first into this whole parenting thing (holding hand with Brian, though) only a few years ago. And we’ve seen & done so much!

So, I’m holding up. And will continue to do so.

I’ve also gotten a lot of cleaning and organzing done. Without my “helper” I seem to get things done quicker.

Love you my little Bean!

So, d comes in here to ask me a question… seems he found V’s hot tamales (what can I say, I let the kid have a treat every now and then…). Since V is still asleep d’s whispering as he asks if he can have some. I tell him that they’re V’s and he’ll have to wait and ask V. He continues whispering and asks if he can go ask V right now.

Gotta love the kid logic! I don’t want to wake up my brother, unless, of course, it is for something *really* important–you know, like me eating his candy…

Must.resist.posting.photos…

And I really want to!

Today I got the proofs from V’s photo session. Y’all will be seeing one of them shortly though!

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have the invites ordered.

Today he was such a sweetheart. Almost daily we have a battle over a nap. Today was no different, but I softened the blow by offering to nap with him (the sacrifices of being Mom). So, we lay down together and he closes his eyes and lays as still as possible. There was no way he could have fallen asleep, but you could tell he was trying so hard to be good. I couldn’t resist hugging, kissing, and tickling him! The tickle got him to smile… Anyhow, once I rolled over, he finally got himself comfortable and drifted off.

As adorable as he his awake, he’s even cuter sleeping. And the best was when he woke up in a great mood.

Check it out… my blog is back to normal (thanks Baby-Baby).

But, it’s also a little dull again.. where are all the photos?

I’ll try again tonight!

So, I am busy, busy working on an adoption celebration. So far I have most of the food, most of the decor, and most of the stuff for the kids to do. That most word does mean that I still have a ton to do. I’ve been trying to compile an accurate address list (hint, hint for those of you who did not get a Christmas card last year or who’ve moved since then). And hopefully by the beginning of next week I’ll be able to start sending out invites.

To entice you to show, I’ll give you a peak into one thing that will be there…

I was looking into renting a popcorn machine and learned that it’s about the same price to just buy one. It came this weekend and today I was impatiently waiting for the popcorn to arrive. Tonight after baths it showed and I got to try out my new toy!

As David said, “It’s a popcorn miracle!”

There goes the revolving door.

Brian’s (and my) dear friend Jeremy left yesterday and within a couple hours, Grandma & Grandpa were sitting down to dinner with us.

We are so fortunate to have good friends and family. And we love it when they come see us. We can only tell people how wonderful our kids are so many times before they have to see for themselves. Ha!

Thank you J for making the journey, I hope that you enjoyed being here. We had fun seeing you!

And, Grandma & Grandpa, I hope you rested up before this trip. The kids are geared up and ready to go!

When Bean meets someone new they’re automatically her friend, especially if she can’t remember his/her name.

She’ll introduce pretty much anyone as her Best Friend.

I like that.

Something is goofy on my blog. And I have no clue what it is.

I’m also still missing a picture of David that I *know* was on my last post.

Well, I thought that with all of the kids (minus the Bean) in school that I’d have more time and I’d blog more. Ha! I bet you knew better. It actually could be getting calmer around here, but it won’t be. Brian’s best friend has landed (at least I am guessing he has) and is in town for the next couple of days. And Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to be on their way here shortly, too. So, there’s no down time here.

But, we love having the company. Beanie keeps talking about missing Jeremy and she’s offering to sing the, “I love Grandma” song for a price…

So, life is good.
