Well, at least most of it..! We’ve moved. I am sitting right now in the office/craft room of our new house!

It has been emotional, and stressful, and tiring, and messy (well, still is messy!), but we’ve survived the big “move” day. Yesterday the movers came and packed up their truck twice at our old house and deposited everything in the new. We now have boxes in pretty much every room and a garage full of stuff. So, I think there is still lots of work to be done. But, it was nice to sleep here as a family–we’ve been splitting up for the past few nights.

And I love the new place. I will post photos at some point of the house, but today is not going to be that day. Right now I have a list a million miles long of other things that *have* to be done…

Hope that you and yours are having a very Merry Christmas week!

So, I only have a minute, but I wanted to post where I’ll be this weekend. We’re going to the farm (we meaning Renee & I– you know, RAD Crafts chicks). We’ll be at Superstition Farms for Moo-ey Christmas. Come and see us! If you want/need more info, click on the link for the details & a map.

I’ve been busy crafting this week and have 8 new lovies, some super cute fleece hats and more onesies to sell.

Gotcha!

So, I know, I *told* you that it’d be awhile because we were moving. And I lied. It has been awhile, but we’re still in the same house. Boxes are piling up around me, but no move has happened. In our new economy, things just don’t go the same way that they used to in the house-buying arena. So, the close of our new home has been delayed.. I hope (well, I know it’s been delayed, I just *hope* it’ll still go through).

Anyhow, it will be o.k. This gives us more time to pack up all of our stuff. Have I mentioned how much stuff we have? We have a lot of stuff! I’ve been plugging right along packing a box or two a day.

In the meantime, we have had a little more excitement. Our little Princess is now 4!

Her birthday was on Sunday, but we just keep the party rolling… We celebrated on Saturday by going to go see Yo Gabba Gabba!

Bean with the Gabba Gang

Before Going with Bean in her Mommy-made Foofa Shirt

Then on Sunday we celebrated with cupcakes (Bean is still waiting on a *real* cake.. she might be waiting for awhile) and her Aunt Brandy…

Lots of Helpers

Which brings us to today. Today is another special day. Birth parents get to have the whole 9 months to prepare. They can have a pregnancy journal and a shower and all that sort of stuff. Adoptive parents get a “Gotcha” day! It’s a little controversial in some adoption circles, but for us, with our long waits and uncertain future as foster parents, we choose to celebrate. Today is the day that our little girl came to our home. I believe that I shared the story last year, so I won’t bore you, but it’s pretty cool how quickly she became our daughter. Happy Gotcha Day, Miss Bean! We love you!

So, I haven’t blogged. And I wish I could say that it’s because I was busy planning a huge feast. But, I wasn’t. Marie cooked today (Marie Callendar that is). And it was delish!

We had Aunt Brandy, Unlce Jerry, Kristen & Brian over today. And it was a very pleasant day.

The question is, what the heck *have* I been doing? And the answer is pretty short. Packing. I’ve been packing. I’ve been sorting and stuffing and boxing it all up. We are set to close on a new home next Friday. We haven’t really been advertising this fact because with the way the economy is, nothing is for sure… In fact, there are still a couple small hurdles to get through before the week is done. But, it’s getting close enough that I’ve had to face facts and get with the work. We’d planned on having a yard sale, but decided that donation was our route this time around.

And I’ve been trying to load up a box or two a day. I think I’ll have to increase that this week. So, don’t expect any monumental blogs until we’re in our new digs.

In addition to this, I have been getting things lined up for a second RAD Crafts show. Brian has the site up and running (www.radcrafts.com) if you need to order anything (hint, hint). But, not nearly everything is posted on there. I made a lot of my items one of a kind and think that I should stick to selling them at the shows. Our second show is this Saturday. If you haven’t become a fan of RAD Crafts on Facebook, what are you waiting for? Become our friend and you’ll be in the loop for all the goings on. And, it’ll be an excellent boost for my ego, too! After this show, we’ll pack that stuff all up and be off for a couple weeks before we do an event on Dec. 10 & 11.

Oh, and because it is Thanksgiving and all… I *must* post a quick list of things that I’m thankful for right now… none of the mushy kids and husbands bit, y’all know that already…

*DVRs and their ability to entertain me, my husband and children on demand
*Car warranties & loaner cars
*That one spot on the couch that fits me just right
*The radio station that plays all Christmas music all the time
*The show Parenthood that makes me feel normal
*The new families in my class this session that make me so excited for some very lucky foster kiddos
*The new space that will come with our move
*The limitless imagination of my children

I could go on and on, but those were on the top of my mind.

I truly wish each and everyone of you a wonderful Thanksgiving (or whatever day you read this on!).

Have you started yet?

The holiday rush…

Or, are you waiting for the official kick off in a couple weeks?

I try to shop year round. I try to find the best deals and pick up little things here or there so that I don’t have to do everything all in the last month of the year. But, my kids are getting older. And now they’re pickier… And for some reason, none of them have decided what they want. So, even though I try my hardest to plan, I can already feel the clock ticking.

What’s on your list?

And we have Lift Off

Wanted to share our little cuties with you all!

I do have to boast on myself a little bit. On Halloween, I think I earned my MOTY (Mom of the Year) Award… I took all four out to trick or treat around our block. Then, I took just D & d out to hit the next couple blocks. Oh, and I made Bean’s costume myself!

Not only did I give them extra trick or treat time, I also (for the first time ever) took them to the gas station for a toilet break mid-TOT so the fun could continue.

*Then* when we’d treated as much as we could and we were all out of tricks, my little guy (well, the littlest of my bigs) was exhausted. We were about half a block from home when he was very tired. So, I carried him the rest of the way home…

And I begged him to remember this. There will be plenty of times of Mom throwing a fit or getting mad for him to keep in his memory bank. I hope that this will replace one of those!

See you Friday!!!

Single Flier

I don’t know why I couldn’t get that to insert…

Anyhow, Friday 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, I’ll be at the Crafty Creations Boutique.

Or, if you need directions, here’s a map.

I’m more than a little excited (freaked out!!!). And I’d love to have some love in the form of a visit from anybody I know!

Brian loves the art of score keeping at baseball games. I’ve been going through all of the stuff that I want to post & can’t seem to get around to. So, here’s the short list in “score” format.

3 People who’ve requested Halloween photos (I’m now looking for our camera so I can appease you–sad, but true!)

1 Day until V gets his cast off

2 Children home sick from school

1 Day of school that D will actually get to go to this week between the illness & Veteran’s Day

24 Days until we potentially close on a new house

3 Days until my first craft show

57 Items give or take that I’ve created for the show

2.5 Days that my wonderful, loving ad supportive husband will be taking off this week to help me get ready for the craft show

2 Experts I saw last week for my sinus issues

5 Daily medications that I’m taking right now for above sinus issues

100 Projects that I have supplies for that will not be going to the show with me

12 Boxes packed so far

6 Boxes of junk that are ready to be sold in our yard sale

4 Kids that I love dearly

6 Loads of laundry waiting for me

1 Messy house

And I think that’s about it for now!
